The Exploring Las Vegas Guide to The On The Record Guest List

One of the newest venues to hit the Sin City nightclub scene is from the creators and twin brothers, Mark and Jonnie Houston, whose goal was to bring a sense of nostalgia to the world-famous Las Vegas Strip. This speakeasy is a perfect match of retro perfection, meeting a 21st-century production. This venue offers something for everyone, from the unique décor and vintage pinball machines to the walls full of old TVs and cassettes and certified master mixologists brought in from around the country to create their own song-inspired cocktails based on guests' musical selections.
The Layout
- 11,000 sq. ft. spanning two floors
- Three private Karaoke rooms with state-of-the-art technology
- A hidden Record Parlor – max capacity of 25 for high rollers and special guests
- The main room has a mid-sized dance floor with a DJ booth fashioned from a Rolls Royce
- A welcoming living room space with plenty of tables
- A fireplace for the center upper dance floor tables
- A vintage double-decker bus on the patio that serves as both a DJ booth and bar
How The On The Record Guest List Works?

We at Exploring Las Vegas want to thank you for checking out our On The Record Las Vegas Nightclub Guest List Page. We are excited about the opportunity to make your vacation unforgettable.
Step #1: Submit a form. One of our team members will reach out to you and get you the details for the night and club requested. Each night is unique, and the rules change by the day.
The club is inside The Park MGM, which is now smoke-free, and it is pretty easy to find if you follow the signs from the main valet – enter the casino, keep right, and the club will be on your left near the Vegas Strip.
Ask your limo driver, cab, or rideshare to drop you off at the main Park MGM valet. Make sure they don't drop you off at the MGM Grand valet across the street; otherwise, you are going to have a long walk, especially if you are in heels. 👠
Break out your camera phones for an Instagram moment 📸 while enjoying a great meal at our top picks Best Friends – a Korean BBQ restaurant next door to the club or Chicago-based Bavette's Steakhouse – a fine dining venue with a classic menu. We offer some amazing packages for both.
Expect to wait a bit for a guest list entry, especially on large artist nights. For busy holiday weekends and famous artist's parties, you might want to consider tickets (link to EV On The Record Tickets Page) or our VIP Entry Service. Both tickets and VIP entry will guarantee you access; the guest list does not!
The Vibe and Artists
We like to call the party open format music, but they do toss in some 1980s and 1990s music and some impromptu vocals, musicians, and a dance team. An open-format is a mix of Top 40s, EDM, and Hip-Hop blended to please all genre preferences in the crowd. They have great resident DJs who know how to keep the dance floor moving.
Check out our events page to search your dates to see who is performing the weekend you are in town.
What are the Benefits of the Guest List?
The clubs use the guest list to fill the room. The incentive is no or reduced cover to get customers in early and get them drinking. For listed customers, for most nights, entry is usually free for both guys and ladies.
Guys, you will have to pay a reduced cover charge on larger artist nights, but ladies are still complimentary. On nights when they do allow guys on the guest list, you will need an even ratio of guys to ladies or more ladies than guys, but not the other way around.
Be aware that holiday weekends are almost always jam-packed, and they typically cut the guest list altogether. If they have a list, it might have some crazy rules like ladies only for an hour from 10:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Your best bet on big weekends is tickets. Tickets will guarantee you entry. The guest list will not.

What is the Cost of the On The Record Nightclub Guest List?
Gender | Males | Females |
---|---|---|
Cover Charge | $20-$75+ | $20-$50+ |
Guest List | Some nights are free with an even ratio. | The majority of the nights are free. |
*Note: Submit your guest list entry, and we will get back to you with the details.
**OTR requires an even ratio on the guest list on many nights, meaning the same number of ladies and men in a group, or more ladies than men, but not more men than ladies.
***On some nights, OTR offers an open bar or drink ticket for ladies for a fixed amount of time. We will be happy to set you up with that.
When there is a popular artist on Fridays and Saturdays, they will usually have a hefty cover. For men, you can expect $30 to $75+ each, and ladies usually $20-$50+ each. Get on the guestlist for:
- · Ladies comp admission.
- · Men comp or reduced.
- · We recommend early arrival before 10:30 p.m. as they tend to close the guest list early.
- · Hard cut off for list at 1 a.m. unless they close the list early.
What is the On The Record Dress Code?

While all Las Vegas nightclubs have a similar dress code, it is at the doorman's discretion to determine if you are appropriately dressed. To help you know what to wear and what not to wear, we put together an Ultimate Guide. If you have any questions, ask your Exploring Las Vegas connection. A simple rule of thumb is to keep it classy!
Note: If you wear "Air Jordans," they will likely not let you in.
The Club Security

Vegas is a new world these days. You get searched when you head into a nightclub. At McCarran airport, we have TSA security. Think like that, but only stricter! They will look in your purse and your pockets, do a complete pat-down and wand everyone with a metal detector. We have a complete guide on Las Vegas Nightclub Security. We suggest you check it out if you have any questions; there is nothing worse than waiting in a long list line and then getting denied at the door. 😱
